promotions

even though some promotions may not seem so fair in AIESEC, there is always the felling that you won the position you have, because you applied for it and you won it. We cannot even imagine what would it be if we vote for a PAI for a persona that has not been an AIESEC member and he is applying just because he/she has experience managing global organizations.
Then why do companies hire people for middle management positions when they have overqualified people below them???
That is the investigation I am doing this days =D

Interesting and very true. I have worked for companies that hire instead of utilizing their internal overqualified people. It will be nice to see what kind of results you come up with.

Hey,

Well that is true, my company does it too sometimes, although they also open the selection process for employees as well, but is not all the time. I think your comparison with the AIESEC career model is valid, but as you know we are not a company and sometimes what we do in @ won't make a perfect match with the business environment. We in AIESEC get the competencies needed to be at the top of the org through @XP, in companies you can gain the competencies for a job through experience in other companies ...

I've always thought, what if a top global leader, to say somebody invented: Kofi Anan wants to be PAI? does he have to scale all the way to there? interesting to think huh?

Let us know how it goes your research, it'll be very interesting to know

i think it's different. In my Lc we sometimes don't find the right people for some position, this is why we take people from other LCs.
These are people from different environment but have similar working experience.

Same with corporate, for middle management, they won't hire a fresh grad, they would pick someone with a similar working experience... this makes sense.. Doesn't it??

Good luck, with your work..
How does it feel missing IC, when all the young bastards are there bullshitting all the time..

Guys no offense.. just so frustrated
