Agua y Sed

Cómo quieres ser mi amigo
si por ti daría la vida,
si confundo tu sonrisa
por camelo si me miras.
Razón y piel, difícil mezla,
agua y sed, serio problema.
Cómo quieres ser mi amigo
si por ti me perderia
si confundo tus caricias
por camelo si me mimas.
Pasión y ley, difícil mezcla,
agua y sed, serio problema...
Cuando uno tiene sed
pero el agua no está cerca,
cuando uno quiere beber
pero el agua no está cerca.
Qué hacer, tú lo sabes,
conservar la distancia,
renunciar a lo natural,
y dejar que el agua corra.
Cómo quieres ser mi amigo
cuando esta carta recibas,
un mensaje hay entre líneas,
cómo quieres ser mi amigo.

classrooms

I don’t like class rooms!

I just don't.

Specially for Language courses!
English is not my first language, and believe it or not, I never went to English classes... ok I did, and they teach me about the verb TO BE but that’s it.. (maybe that is why my writing is soo F bad)

I was in a French course last year, BUT, I just cannot be in a classroom, I feel the learning is not so fast.

So here is my method (careful with the copy rights ok?):
Step 1: Rent a movie (DVD).
Step 2: Watch it in English and Subtitles in English
Step 3: Watch it again in French and with French subtitles.

(After all, i believe that is how i learned English)

The key of the success is: when you go to the video rental, ensure that the DVD you are taking has French (or the language you want to learn) option... I rented FlightPlan, Oceans Eleven and Goal (with Kuno guapisimo Becker)... none of them was in French only in Portuguese!!! Any way, now I know a few more works and sentences in Portuguese =D

Something that also works:
Leçon du jour http://french.about.com/library/weekly/bl-dailylesson2.htm
Mot du jour http://french.about.com/library/motdujour/bl_motdujour.htm
Citation du jour http://french.about.com/library/quotes/bl-quote-feb.htm

I may also make some posts in French!!!

Sunday with mom and dad, and grandma

I guess every AIESECer feels that curiosity for finding, discovering and enjoying every detail when going to new places... and also when going back to some places... last Sunday, I went with mom and dad to the city they used to live when they where dating (around 43 years ago!): Sonsonate (I've been there before). But we also went to Juayúa, the place where my dad used to live when he was 10 or something (around 50 years ago). Anyway, lately they have a Gastronomic festival every weekend and lots of people form our country and some gringos go there to eat! The menu? Empiñadas (a pink disk with pineapple jelly in it), Minutas (sort of frozen), Mangos with salt and lemon, meat, shrimp, paella, fried fish, dried fish, coconut ice cream, tamarinds ice cream and berries icecream (all typically made), pupusas, riguas, tacos, and then fruits: jocotes, guineos (bananas), peaches, watermelons, melons, you name it... I bet that place will be like Antigua Guatemala sooner or later.

And the best of all, I was with mom and dad... and grandma :D. See, this trip made me realize how much I love my mom and dad, even if I hate the way they treat me sometimes or the fact that my dad wants to control every single movement I make (for example telling me from what time to what time I should read the newspaper) or that my mom gives me 5 dollars to “go out” and she actually expects it to be enough (yeah, well I don’t drink much so it ends up being enough) and she still doesn’t know how to cook... they love me, I know that. So I spent the day kissing and hugging them :D. They felt that so weird and they were asking me: Which country do you want to go now??. And I was like: “I don’t want anything from you... not now..."

But really, someday (soon) I will move out of my house, maybe to another country, so the time I gonna spend with them from now on will be quality time, and I am going to show them how much I love them... because far from home, I am not gonna be able to do it.

ps, grandma lives in California and I don't get to see her so often so i will show her my love when she is here :D

The Fifth Mountain (Paulo Coehlo)

Phrases that touched my heart:

  1. Tragedies left eternal marks, while glories left useless memories.
  2. When the harvest is delayed, the fruits rot. When the problems are delayed, they do not stop growing.
  3. A man has to choose. In this resides its force: In the power of his decisions.
  4. The sense of my life is the one that I want to give to it.
  5. The fear goes to where the inevitable thing begins, from there, it loses sense. And everything what we have left is the hope of to have made the right decision.
  6. How many times I have seen that landscape without repairing in its beauty? How many times I had watched the sky without noticing that he was deep? How many times it had listened to the noises of Akbar around me without perceiving that they comprise of my life?
  7. A man most choose and not accept its destiny.
  8. The tragedy is not a punishment, but a challenge.
  9. Each one must give a name to its life.
  10. The people who return to their land with wonderful histories are those that have conquered everything what they wished, because they are not limited by the frustrations of the past.
  11. The enemy is only a pretext to prove our strength.
  12. How can we make something impossible? With enthusiasms.
  13. Tragedies happen. We can discover the reason, blame to others, or imagine how different would have been our lives without them. But nothing of that is important: they already passed, period. From that point we must forget the fear that causes to us and initiate the reconstruction.
  14. The destruction of Akbar was necessary so the forces that slept within all it inhabitants could wake up.
  15. We stopped thinking about life and decided to live it.
  16. - Sadness does not remain for always, when we walked in the direction of which always we wished.
    - it is always necessary to start off?
    - it is always necessary to know when a stage of the life finishes. There if you insist on remaining in it beyond of the necessary time, you lose the joy and the sense of rest. And you risk to be reprimanded by God.

Some of these phrases deserve a deeper reflection…. Or at least my thoughts:

#6 Reminds me my time in Argentina, at some point, I stop looking and enjoying my surroundings but I realized that everyday I spent there was "one more day" and "one day less". One more day of my life and one day less of Cordoba. That awaked my spirit again and helped me enjoy the surroundings in Cordoba once again and my own city's (when i came back) for the first time.

#10 and #13 are a personalized call for me! I have to forget the fear and start over again.

Last but not the least, #16… it sounds kinda contradictory to me… coz there are few tiny things that I still want to do in AIESEC (that is the direction I wish), but then, it is necessary to know when a stage of the life finishes…
the only thing I can say that I am still finding out the best way to move on :’(

Forca

It is the passion flowing right on through your veins
And it's the feeling that you're oh so glad you came
It is the moment you remember you're alive
It is the air you breathe, the element, the fire
It is that flower that you took the time to smell
It is the power that you know you got as well
It is the fear inside that you can overcome
This is the orchestra, the rhythm and the drum

Com uma força, com uma força
Com uma força que ninguem pode parar
Com uma força, com uma força
Com uma fome que ninguem pode matar

It is the soundtrack of your ever-flowing life
It is the wind beneath your feet that makes you fly
It is the beautiful game that you choose to play
When you step out into the world to start your day
You show your face and take it in and scream and pray
You're gonna win it for yourself and us today
It is the gold, the green, the yellow and the grey
The red and sweat and tears, the love you go. Hey!

Com uma força, com uma força
Com uma força que ninguem pode parar
Com uma força, com uma força
Com uma fome que ninguem pode matar

força, força, força, força, força

Closer to the sky, closer, way up high, mais perto do ceu, mais perto do ceu

Com uma força, com uma força
Com uma força que ninguem pode parar
Com uma força, com uma força
Com uma fome que ninguem pode matar

força (oh), força (oh), força, força, força

Este amor... Este amor..
Tão grande,Tão forte
come on!

Now, this song is definitely part of the soundtrack of my life. I gives me strength and hope, it makes me feel free and happy (the kind of happyness you feel when you are in love) and it reminds me the moment I fell in l-o-v-e.
