What ever you do shoot for the moon

Whatever you do shoot for the moon… if you don’t reach it, at least you will land among the stars.

Yeah right...

This statement is not always true, and here is an example. Last year, the SSGN board approached DELL in Mexico with a proposal of becoming Regional Partner (or Global, I am not sure). But (as far as I know) DELL declined the offer because the budget was too high.
DELL has already had traineeships in other countries like India, The Netherlands, Denmark, USA, Canada and even Mexico.
Now we approached them to raise TN here and they are more than happy with AIESEC, they liked the organization a lot so I have faith that DELL will become a long term partner for AIESEC El Salvador.
I met a person from HR in DELL Panama, so after the Salvadorian experience I hope we can convince them to take inthersn and then all sites will take inters. After they try, convincing them to become regional or even global partners will be easier.

What ever you do shoot for the moon...
I would rather say, clarify your target and then shoot. If you do it with enough passion, you won’t miss it...

And if you do, make sure you are targeting fine before shooting again ;)

Meeting people in AIESEC (2)

I forgot to mention 3 special people:
Lars, Nacho and Maria.
I met Lars here in El Salvador, for NLDS 02, he was chair. I met Nacho in Argentina for CONAL (=NatCo) 03 and I met Maria in El Salvador for NLDS03.

I saw them again in Germany 04, Nacho and Lars were (and they still are) working in DHL Singapur. And Maria, she recently was selected to be AI Global Partnerships Manager 06-07.
CONGRATULATIONS CORALITO!!!!!

It feels so good to see somebody you appreciate and someone who touched your heart in a successful situation!!!!

Meeting people in AIESEC

So, I met Daniel in Guatemala last weekend, he is a Brazilian intern working at novartis. We started looking at pictures of our trips, and we find out that we have some friends in common: For example, Laurita, one of my bests friends ever!, after she was LC VP in Buenos Aires she spend some time as CEED in Brazil; Marcelinho, ceed in Cordoba, then MC VP Brazil and now MCPe in Southern Cone and last but not the least Mario, a chapin (Guatemalan) living in Denmark.

Then I started thinking of all those who I met in one place and then moved, or some that met me online and then actually met me or met one of my friends: Marius, Rumanian who was part of the
StoryTime project (and so was I) and then Arturo met him at IPM Romania. Chris Zhou was part of that team too, but maybe that was so long ago that she doesn't remember me anymore :( and I met her at IC. David, from Ecuador, we met at CONAL Argentina 03 and then we saw each other in Chile 8 months later in one event that had nothing to do with AIESEC.
In that trip to Chile I met Fermando, he was MCP at that time, now he is finishing his term as MCP of Southern Cone and there is a Chance that I can see him and all the Argentinens this July!!!
Who else? lets see... Ernst, from Austria, stayed in my house previous AXLDS 03 and then we both were LCPs in Argentina, then we saw each other in India!!!!. Marcelo, former LCP of Cordoba is now in Mexico and i am begging him to come to El Salvador.

Jen was my room mate in IC05 and then we saw each other in India. Veronica, from Canada, we met in Germany, then we were room mates in India and then we saw each other in Canada. My other room mate in India was Ego then we found out she is Kurt's friend, they met when Kurt when to Kenya last year.

Araz, was MC VP ER in Canada when we met online, we first saw each other at IC 06 and now she is SSGN Director!!! (there is a chance that we can still work together), Kurt, of course who I met in Germany then he came to El Salvador and then I went to Canada (yeah, that was planned) and he is now going to Pakistan for one year (MC VP ER)... I saw Araz again in Canada by the way. But the funniest is Juanita coz we met at IC06 in the middle of the Global Village and among 700 people in that place, we are like hi, hello, nice meeting you etc etc and when I told her I am from El Salvador, she's like OMG you are the girl Kurt was talking about!!! Juanita is in Cameroon already (i hope) also for one year (MC).

Yet an other funny story is Ainhoa (MCP Spain 0405), she was here for AXLDS 03 but we never met. She is Arturo's friend thought and as I had to sit next to her for the Global Legislation (IC06) she was telling me to say "hello" to Arturo and "to the girl that went with him last year (IC05 Germany) I don't remember her name but she looked like you except that... she was kinda blond"... ... ... it was me, but I have a different hair color now (red!)

And the list continues, but is quite long already…
Magical isn't it?
